If there was a new event at the Island in June, would anyone be interested?

Simply expressions of interest to gauge interest.
I had in mind a circus with elephants, lions and tigers, followed by a bike race meeting with bikes going fast.
Sound familiar?

John,

Seeing it mentioned in the AGM minutes,to answer your initial question, yes I would be interested. But as pointed out its a big undertaking, so you'd need to cast a wide net and include wider classes, BEARS as an obvious one, P6, get interstate interest, maybe team up with an interstate historic club or modern Vic club to run a themed event, you'd need to start getting the word out very soon. Or just run the Vic historic titles there. Perhaps an opportunity to run your previous thoughts on a P5 superbike class? Run some short enduro events PCRA 1 hour style on one of the days (for later bikes obviously) etc

Involving the BEARS in historic racing - that's a new idea. MA could collect more money for log books to stop cheating.

Good will to all men at Christmas eh Alan??

BEARS is not a historic class. It's full of moderns so I don't get your point. My point is simply to say that if JD undertakes a meeting at PI it needs to attract enough entries to make it pay, and to do so means appealing to some modern well subscribed classes. End of.

Heritage BEARS has it's share of European classic bikes. If you can find a way of getting them into historic races without a heap of bullsh1t that could be good ? ? Also it might be handy to fill up the grids of lower capacity historic classes with BUCKETS ?

Instead of Bears why not run a Thunderbike class, any 4 stroke of 1, 2 or 3 cylinder, if this was split into some sensible age categories it might even bring out some older British bikes and the early dukes or Guzzis. They could all run in the same race but in seperate classes.

just a thought
