I'm after a complete motor (running would be nice) from a K0/1/2/3/4 CB450. Complete parts bikes, or any parts for that matter would be considered, along with aftermarket or hot up parts.
thanks.

Hi John,
I have a 450 that I race in the Post Classics. I Can't help you out with any spare engines, 450's are getting bloody hard to find, especially ones that have good cranks. I have stripped three engines recently to get one good crank. The 500t is sometimes a little easier to get hold of and no that different from the 450 apart from a slightly longer stroke.
I can give you some info on parts for them, it depends what you wnat and what you are trying to achieve with the engine. There are all sorts of nice i.e. read "expensive" parts available from the UK.
The achillies heal of the 450/500 twin is the cylinder head. If you really want them to go you have to spend up and do a proper job on it.
Here is a link that will give you an overview of what can be done.

Hi John,
The cranks are usually in bad condition due to mis-teatment. I had 4 cranks to choose from when I did a recent rebuil, of which only one of these was usuable due to bad wear on the bearing surfaces.
The rollers that are in the 450 crank are an odd size and are usually hard to get. You can still source replacement rollers from Honda Japan, although not cheap. From memory about $400-$500 for a set of rollers. It was a couple of years ago now since I last got some.
Email me of list and I can give you more details..
I email you more details..

The 500 is a lot better crank, the bearing being a different design, although the stroke is then longer on the 500. |
