MV makes changes to licensing and permit procedures

Following the Motorcycling Victoria (MV) Executive Council meeting on Wednesday 25th February 2009, changes will be made to the way both licenses and permits will be issued by MV.

From the 1st May 2009, the following will be strictly enforced:

· All licence applications MUST be received at the MV Office by close of business on the Tuesday before a race meeting. Any licence application received on the Wednesday, Thursday or Friday before a Race Meeting that requires a Confirmation Letter will incur an ‘Emergency Licence Issue’ fee of $55.00.

· In accordance with GCR 4.2.2.2 d) (Page 57 of 2009 MOMS) all permit applications MUST be received at the MV Office at least 14 days before the date set for the meeting/event*. Any permit application received after this date will incur a late fee of $220.

* The only exception to this rule is for those clubs who utilise the ‘Bulk Permit’ system. Clubs which utilise this system that have not already confirmed their dates can call up at shorter notice to inform MV that they wish to utilise one of their Bulk Permits. It is still expected that clubs will give MV maximum notification.

MV is aware that this is a significant change to current procedures and as such we are giving clubs are riders two months prior warning before these new procedures take place. It is important that clubs and riders are fully aware of these requirements as they will be strictly enforced from 1st May 2009.
