In trying to help out creating a record of 'forgotten tracks' in OZ and NZ can any one help with providing layout drawings, length if known etc - don't care if you think we may have it please send your version it may be better than what we have. If you are like me and still use HM Post send to
PO Box 3 Broadford 3658 - for your help we will send you updates if you are interested.
One entry is a 1.7km track at Kilmore about 12km from Broadford and last used in 1936!!

Patrick, are you wanting information on street circuits as well as bona fide race tracks? In WA there were probably a dozen or more street circuits until the dreaded insurance/licencing problems crept in. Two tracks that come to mind are Caversham and Moolabeeni the spelling of the last will be wrong but thats how it sounds. Geoff Duke raced there one or two years ago.
I will try to dig out some info but it will have to wait until after Winton as I am madly being the organiser at this end and also trying to build a bike to bring with me.

Thanks Alan - after Winton is OK - your help is great- street circuits are special and are at the top of our list, if Geoff Duke raced there that is special also but even if it was dirt or whatever please tell us. This is a project that needs to be done.

Just for a start off the top of my head,
South Australia :- Lobethal, Victor Harbour Woodside, Nurioopta, Marion, Crafers/Stirling
(all road circuits)plus an old one on Yorke Peninsula in the 1920's?
Springbank, Sleeps Hill, Pt Norlunga (or nearby) Murray Bridge plus others, Bucks Hill (mt Gambier) (Dirt circuits) plus others after I left S A
Victoria,:- Ballarat (Gilles st) Ballarat figure 8. both in Vic Park, Darley, Flinders Naval Depot, Little River, Rowville
Bandiana, (Road circuits)
Plus Scramble tracks everywhere.
Hope someone will fill in the gaps, as far as lay out, Lobethal, Woodside, Crafers and Victor Harbour roads are still there , Marion is now suburbs of Adelaide but roads still there . I could get lay outs off maps (I think) Must away now Bruce Pederick
