In June 2005 or to be precise on June 30th the use of leaded fuels (avgas) will cease to be allowed to be used.
Has anybody got any details of this matter, the story is that apparently the EPA has issued a directive.

does this also apply to shell 100 racing fuel same as avgas but only labled racing fuel!! this will stop a few from racing as fuel becomes to hard to find & use with the older bikes ,all now will go to methenol type fules so up goes the cost of racing again

I have a copy of a letter to MA confirming this, it is from Environment Australia.
This was published in the Historic Road Race Commission Minutes some time back so it shouldnt be a surprise.
Methanol or hardened valve seats will prove to be the answer.

Umm,this will apply to all leaded fuels.
The aviation idustry should have some answers to this although I dont reckon it will affect commercial operations at all as they use JetA-1 fuel but the small operators of Cessna's,Pipers etc will be affected pretty badly.
