For those who are thinking of sending their bikes to Tasmania (if it is the palace the 2005 Titles will be held) in November 2005, then I would strongly recommend that you do not use what I would call as the worst, non-service shipping company in Australia.
After my dealings with the Spirit of Tasmania since Jan 2005, they have shown the inability to do the job right, and if it is not done right, they blame you and even insinuate that you are a liar and the issues are caused by you and not their staff.
The delays and extra charges they pose on their customers are unforgivable. I have had nothing but issues and Patrick M. Guarino (General Manager Freight Services) can not make an executive decision and send out a formal apology, but can only blame me for the following:
1. I should of known we where sharing a cabin with 2 complete strangers before leaving valuables in the cabin and not Spirit of Tasmania staff 2. I was my choice to move cabins, so I had to pay the extra fees after not being told we were sharing the cabin 3. I was the only one who complained about the shower that had 2 temperatures, cold or freezing, therefore it was my fault 4. It was my fault our truck was blocked in at the docks for 10-15 minutes only and not the 50 minutes from 7:05 am to 7:55 am after the key went missing to the car that was blocking the truck in and there was no place in the empty parking lots on the docks to put that car except to block our truck in
So Patrick and TT-Lines, if you are reading this, you can take it from me, you have no back bone, you try to blame everyone, but your employees mistakes and I will advise all that there are cheaper and better ways to get things sent to Tasmania for motorcycle racing than using the Spirit of Tasmania.
I would also like to hear other horror acts from people who have been on the Spirit of Tasmania, or even if you have had a pleasant trip on the Spirit of Tasmania to keep it fair.
I say lets BAN the Spirit of Tasmania and TT-Lines. If the Spirit of Tasmania or TT-Lines has an issue with this, then call 131111 as I am beyond caring after your rude and obnoxious responses to my requests, but they might care.
