I would just like to know what is happening over at Motorcycling Australia, as they seem to of gone quiet all of a sudden. Would not have to do with what Snoozer (aka Jayne) has mentioned in the past. It seems to be falling apart for Classic, Post Classic and Historic motorcycle racing in Australia as the silence is deafening...

David, We are all patiently waiting for the Nationals to fall over and to see what happens after that. There isnt much point in doing to much as at present the ball is in the hands of the track owners. MA has allocated the Championships subject to certain conditions being met which the track owners have apparently agreed to so while it would be normal to get stuck into MA at present they have a cop out as it is in the hands of a third party and until they either come good or decide not to do anything then we have no option but to be patient. The real issue though could be whether the Championships should have ever been allocated to Tasmania with the known problems with tracks coupled with the high cost of getting there it is a recipe for maybe not a disaster but certainly a difficult meeting to make a success of. One only has to look back to when the Classic Motocross was held there to see the problems there will be. Moving on from there we also have a Commission that has only one member following what must have been an inadequate Commission Meeting earlier this month. It will be interesting to read the minutes when they come out. From the above it is easy to see why MA is quiet at present, they do have a few issues on there minds.

You see Alan, that is the sort of thing I am talking about, they are not informing the racing community on what is going on with anything.
I would of expected them to turn around and say we have some front runners for the historic commission. I can understand about the track(s) in Tassie, but at least they could send out a media release on what else is happening in the sport of Classic, Post Classic or Historic motorcycle racing in Australia!
MA have simply choosen to do nothing.

Also dont forget this organisation can be rider driven and they are pretty quite as well. Unless there is a brawl on they are not involved and yet there are plenty of gr8 issues we could bang on about that would improve the sport, the facilities and does not need MA. Such as camping grounds, promotion of the game by riders, dragging paying spectators along, suppling names of local newspapers and dropping off brochures to key shops. Offering to help their club with promotional ideas.
