I did see one solo race as we were waiting for the sidecar event, it was a memorial event on Sunday. I counted 12 machines. I belive we should combine such a small fied with other evers to build the field for the spectators. Yes, I know we had small outfit fields and I am working to improve that also. But when you see a full grid with cars, the time may arrive when the overall organaisers ask for more time. the best defence is getting our grids full. Are there any ideas other than licence costs, which may work. These bikes are in the sheds and often raced elsewhere, how do we get them to Historic Winton.

| Believe it or not I was not trying to stick it up the solos with this topic. Even though it is the last event the breakdowns and rain etc, we still have small fields over the whole range of events. Yet around Austrlia and vic. this stuff does get out from time to time. The point about the club event has finished, as Secretary I contacted the MV executive to discuss what steps would need to be taken. It was explaoned that since spectatords pay to enter the track viewing areas, the event does not qualify as a closed club event. Personally I do not belive the licence issue was the final issue, because we had a sgood a field as we have had in recent years. A special thanks should go to Al Kidd and others who brought along a couple of extra machines, it was appreciated. P@, P3 and P5 are the week links, lets work on them, maybe free beer! |
