Hello,

I got this in an e-mail and it would be great if we could help other racers around the world with information:

Comments: Dear Sirs,

I am a racer from the UK who is currently riding a T150 triton with the UK
classic racing club. We want to campaign a Moto Martin framed GSX1100 in
the post classics but are having a really tough time finding one that was
raced in europe before december 1982 and we cannot get through eligibility
without this information.
We know there was a bike of this type raced in the F1 class in Oz at the
correct period and we would be very grateful for any information anyone
may have that could lead us to finding a european counterpart. This would
allow us to enter the bike and hopefully stuff the prissy ladies at the
front.

Thanking you in advance for any help possible.

Best regards (from a very cold and soggy UK in the off season),

Iain Henderson

So if anyone who remembers information about this type of bike, can you be a sport and post it up here?

I am fairly certain I have seen this bike,
It would be about 10 yrs ago for Sale South of Brisbane
It was in very poor condition and I believe it ended up
with some one on the Gold Coast.
I have not seen or heard of the bike since,
There are a couple of Moto Martins around this way,
One kawasaki powered the other a GS1000 powered.
When I saw the GSX moto martin I could not make up my
mind if the power plant was an original insert or something
done later in life to replace the GS motor.

This bike had the campolgna style wheels, chrome frame etc..
Looked STD moto martin material..
Regards Simon

I know of one of the Moto Martins, probably not the one that was raced, but will try and track the owners details down. I beleive it was running a Kwacka engine, but it too had the campag mag wheels. I can remember the thing went like it was on rails.. See what I can find out...

Iain, what sort of information do you need? do you need to prove the bike was built before december 1982 or do you need to prove the bike was raced in europe before december 1982?are articles from dated magazines what you are looking for? i will look through my mags and see what i can come up with for you........this is a good concept though, MA in australia should look into something like this, it would realy rattle the cages of some of the period 5 competitors if they were forced to prove their bikes existed before the cut off date!
