Hello,

Just so people who frequent this site understand a few things after I have heard a few rumors floating about not only the site but me.

I will tell all out straight the following:

1. I do not and will not be put in the same sidecar as Motorcycling Australia (MA). They do not and will not run this site as long as I own it. Some are saying I am here for MA and don't care about the sport, well those people are wrong. I have invited MA to speak on this site on many occasions, to only have them reject the call for political reasons.

2. This site restricts the poster of messages as it is a private run site. The only thing that I am restricting is when there are threats of legal action to me personally as what has happened in December 2004 and then, and only then will I edit/remove a post. I am human as some of you are aware, and even at non-private (public) owned sites, you will find that they would let the legal action happen to the user as I should have done here, but did not.

So if that was wrong, bad luck. As everyone clicked the agree button when signing up, they are the ones that are liable for the comments posted here, and I was simply saving myself money being dragged to the courts to say, chase the user.

3. I have now locked 2 users’ accounts (names withheld) of this site and they will not be unlocked at this stage because of the grief they have stated and caused.

I am generally free going with the comments of this site and don't really moderate it much, but when I am asked to do something or face going to court, then I am going to do as any human would do, and that is save myself before the person who is causing the issue.

If people would like to write what I have done wrong with this site, please let me know and I will see what I can do. I will weigh up what you would like against how many it would impact both positively and negatively and would advise you if it would be possible on those grounds.

I would like for an open discussion on this and I am sure there are users out there that would also like to put their 20 cents worth in..

Regards,

David

David, Not quite sure of the real problems you have encountered but moderating/editing this site to keep it an open forum for discussion without some of the personal comments that were going on late last year can only be beneficial in the long term. I for one never ever thought you were in MAs pocket.
Keep up the good work.

Your time, your sweat, your cash,

feel free to do whatever you see fit to maintain a constructive flow of information, opinions and ideas. As for being an MA puppet, who the F*** dreamed that up.......

keep on plugging.

David, it is unfortunate that such stories abound.
Dont forget the Whisperers will always be doing something, but we need to flush them out always as well.
I too am aware that you are not in the pocket of MA, but even if you were so what.
Who else has been prepared to sit down and provide for this service with their time, who else has put their money on the line with server expences.
LET THE WHISPERERS DEFEND THEIR POSITION, you dont have to David.

Whilst I agree that some of the posts last year were beyond the pale, and some people felt abuse was the best method of debate, things have tightened up.
WELL DONE

I DONT KNOW QUITE WHAT TO WRITE HERE, BUT FEEL THE NEED TO SAY SOMETHING. NONE OF US WANT TO LOOSE THIS SITE AND WE ALL APRECIATE WHAT YOU PUT INTO IT. ITS MY MOST FREQUENTLY CHECKED SITE. THANKS FOR CREATING IT AND KEEP IT UP FOR THE SPORT OF MOTORCYCLING. I DONT KNOW ALL THE DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENED EITHER, BUT I DID READ ALOT OF ABUSE LATE IN THE YEAR ON DIFERENT THREADS. AS YOUVE DONE, JUST WEED OUT THE WACKERS AND WE CAN KEEP UP AN INTERESTING AND HELPFUL SITE FOR ALL WHO ENJOY BEING PART OF IT.

David - Don't let the idiots get to you - keep up the good work! Otherwise we could end up like Strother Martin in "Cool Hand Luke" - 'What we have here is failure to communicate!'
