PRESENTATION TO SPECIAL LADIES At Historic Winton, the HMRAV celebrated the 102 years of service to racing motorcycles in NSW and Vic to our Shirley Luke[ 52] and Jan Blizzrad [ 50] from NSW. Both ladies have put in tirelessly for our benefit and as Peter Guest mentioned, they have let him know when he was naughty. But seriously, the community of Historic bike racing involves more than just the committee and the competitors and I am proud the club took up the concept of celebrating these very important people, volunteers. Following the meeting Jan wrote ..." To the HMRAV members This is a note to thankyou and let you know how much your lovely presentation to me has meant. I really appreciated your gift of the beautiful locket and chain very much. Thank you Jan Blizzard." As many HMRAV members will remember Shirley has been involved not only with our club but her local club training more volunteers, managing meetings and running a household as well. Jan and her husband, Arthur now not with us, have similarly worked in NSW and competitors to Bathurst may remember their presence. A special thanks also goes to Ken and Brenda Lucas who ensured Jan came to Winton had somewhere to stay and made it to the track. Without such people we would be waiting at the line for flaggies, paperwork and ambos we need to care for them. John Daley
