Happy new year everyone. Let's work together to make 2008 BETTER than 2007. My plea to all of you is "do a bit more than you did before". If we all pull together we can make it happen, if we all wait for the next bloke to do it nothing will happen. My bike will be ready soon and I intend to get out there and hotly contest last place. If I manage better than last place I will be like the cat that swallowed the canary. Acotrel, will you get that bloody machine sorted and on a track in "08? You're only a young fella so no excuses, just do it. Cheers, John

On behalf of my fellow posters from the Wild West, I'd like to endorse John's request that we all do a wee bit more next year than we did this year for the sport, and to repeat the invitation to one and all to join us at Barbagallo in November '08 at the Historic Roadrace Nationals. Thanks also to David for his support at this early stage as the work behind the scenes for the nats continues. Sadly John, I fear you won't see acotrel out on the track in '08, as his apparent desire to have the last word on all threads will keep him at the computer for most of this year as well. Cheers to all CB350 punters, and other victims for a successful '08 ! |

Of all the bikes I've ever built or owned, this latest one is the only one I've ever really believed in. It'll get onto the track sometime in 08. |

David, I do have something to say about historic racing. What you hear from me won't be said publicly by any of the other participants in the inaugural (October 1973) historic racing demo organised by the Velocette Owners Club at Winton. They simply don't care enough to bother getting involved in any sort of debate. I do care and it's not about having the last word on your forum! |

There is something about our sport that I find confusing. On track everyone wants to be a winner but off track these same people are quite happy to be followers. It may well be that most simply don't have the time to get involved between race meetings. So, it falls on those of us with the time and the inclination to lead the way. Alan C. I'm glad that you intend to get your bike on track in '08. As a 750? Someone has to start everything and generally once one has started a thing others will follow. Now I must get my little jigger finished before I'm too old to use it. See, if we both do it we have 2 more bikes out there. Now we have to encourage others to do the same...... our mission for 2008. Let's do it. Cheers, John |

The bike that'll come out this year will be a 600cc triple two stroke. I intend to bring the Norton out only to do some on-board camera work. I was looking at a photo I recently found. The crowd in the background is interesting: You must be logged in to see this link. |

Sounds interesting Alan. What is the bike? I havent heard of a 600 triple before unless my memory is having a day or two off.

What picture? My poor little steamputer only gives me a blank screen to look at. I might as well look in the mirror. So Alan, what is it, where did it come from and when will we see it? Cheers, John |
