i have heard that Wayne Gardner and Rob Phillis may be riding at the Phillip Island historic meeting in January in the Period 5 class, also that Peter Guest will ride in the P5 class as well. I know there will be some very fast 'unlimited' P5's from N.Z. so us "regulars" better be on the ball.

When I got the bee in my bonnet about getting InCA here at the same time as the Aust. Historic Road Race Championships, I had a talk to Victor Soussan. He used to ride for George Beale in the International 250 GP series back in the 70s.
Victor made the comment, that if we could get InCA here at the right time we might get both Gardner and Doohan onto Andy Molnar/Fred Walmsley Manxes. He pointed out that Doohan was to ride the Ex- Barry Sheene Manx at Phillip Island at the Aust GP meeting (I think he did that). Victor also said that he believed riding Manxes is not Doohan's first choice of occupation, however he will still do it, if the stakes are right.
I was talking to Johnny Maher about Victor the other day, and he said George Beale is just as likely to provide him with a bike, if he wanted to have a go!
I don't want to harp on this InCA thing, but I believe if you want to see the top guys really have a go, we should do something about getting InCA here at the right time, in the next couple of years.

Is your machine authentic or merely eligible?

Perhaps there's room for an Historic Superbike Class yet!
