SIDECAR TRAINING DAY 2004
Why dont you come to a sidecar training day Sunday 28 November at Broadford. Organised by the Sidecar racing Club of Vic. SCRCV. Learn why the true Gentlemen of motorsport ride these beautiful beasts. Come and try yourself as a passeger and if you are nice maybe a chance to ride one as the rider. Many people think the passenger just sits there, but I can assure you the passenger has more real control than the rider, because by shifting their weight or moving in a particular way all sorts of things can happen. With different handling characteristics between left and right hand corners and the ability to lift the LH wheel 600mm to get past / over somebody, with up to 200HP and a min. weight of 375 kg with passenger and rider they are interesting to watch and ride.
Come along and discover we are not mad, just lovely.

John,

providing I survive my first (and maybe my second) competitive solo excursion, myself and the delightful Cath would be delighted to accept and have a crack at chairioteering.
Will confirm closer to the date.

The field will be limited to 50, which is high a cost of $110 and bookings will be encouraged

I thought that you wanted to get everyone on to sidecars there John.. By putting the limit on there, is that not stopping the others that wanted to give it a try and potentially loosing future sidecar riders. Just a thought.

David, the sidecar club is organising the event. They feel that with 10 sidecars 50 new passengers is a safe number to hav, otherwise the sidecar blokes would be worn out. They can get 10 sidecars, the greatest number they have ever had turn up was 12.
Most newbie passengers cant take no more than 15 laps
50 newbies x 15 laps = 750 laps
With 10 sidecars
Thats 75 laps on average for each sidecar
Thats heaps
I can say they have never had anywhere near that number in the past, with 25 being the biggest crowd so far.
