I too got a PM asking to hold off for 7 days to something to happen but I will keep looking. But Ross martin sent me this to me via PM, it does clear up some issues but does not explain the "non public" action of people and if Ron Kevo is introduced as President of MA and he bags Historics is he taking above MA policy or his personnel opinion and when he writes in "Cycle talk' under the MA column and bags Historics is it MA policy or his personnel opinion, I ask this please;

As I said earlier, MA does listen to comments from riders, State bodies and interested people. It is rare that we receive information.
The method of appointing Commissioners for all disciplines is not secretive, but is carried out by the Board of MA. They call for nominations, and make their appointments from the people who apply. It is up to people in the various disciplines who are keen and committed, to apply.
There has been no public statements from MA regarding Historic racing, and the President, Mr. Ron Kivovitch is entitled to his opinion.
The current minutes that have just been released are for discussion, and are not law. All items will go back to the Commissions meetings in late August along with comments received. After this the Commissions will make their recommendations to the MA Board, who may or may not approve the recommendations.
If you, or any other interested people have opinions, then send them to MA, and they will be taken into account.

So I guess we have to look at why we are so annoyed about this system, why are there so many people who are unhappy.
I tell you way I think its not working because whilst that is the stated policy its implementation is rubbish, in my opinion there are personnel platforms and beliefs being played here, also, when you have 3 other disciplines sharing concerns about openess and accountability you have to wonder what the .... is going on.
When we get commissioners resigning, good people rejected and able bodied people withdrawing their voluntary service you have to wonder what it would be like if we had any trouble in the camp.

Hiya all,
I have been reading the posts RE MA etc and have found it rather interesting that no-one has made submissions to MA regarding concerns.(please correct me if I am wrong..). I have worked in bureaucratic environments before and know (as most of you would as well) that people can talk as much as they like, but unless formal paper submissions are made voicing concerns they will not be addressed.
People are articulating some decent points here, how about attending some MA meetings, or drafting some official documents for submission? As R.Martin states, "It is rare that we receive information", surely some formalisation of concerns is in order?
Just a thought.

| well ross martin says the president can have his own opinion and say what he likes. what complete crap, when the pres of ma says something then thats ma speaking, and where are these minites that ross martin says have been released, lots of guys are waiting to see what sort of con job is tried with the minites this year considering there is no commish. and ma rarely recieves info? they get bogged down with complaints its just that ross martin doesnt get told about it. an no public talk about historics? david white has made heaps of statements along with kikovitch its just that ross martin isn't allowed to. ross martin just continues to give us more ammo and make things worse for his boss, but if ma cant control him what hope have they got of controlling important things. the letters start going out next thurs and crap like this ma post just make it worse tho the bit about ma not recieving info will be in the letters. its time ma comes clean about what its wants for historics and what games its up to with the titles in tassy. |
