The old story! fine for some, BUT P5 are historic going byMA rule book so once again P5 bikes are hard done by , just no races for them!! Is it because all the parts are used in P/classic racers, or no one has P5 bikes in Vic?

Allan, Some time back you asked the question about airbags to be used on two corners at Winton. At the Hartwell Club round a couple of weeks ago polyurethane bags were used, and proved satsfactory when at least two riders tested them by crashing in a big way and sliding into the bags. Winton Motor Raceway own the bags. Best Regards,

The Southern Classic is on 19/20 October 2002. P5 machines did not enter so maybe its a lack of interest by P5 riders that causes clubs to ignore them. As for getting details of meetings a phone call to the club is not a bad start if you have not had anything put on the site. As the new Secretary I can recall Allan ringing a while back for details. Sometimes there just is not enough minutes in the hour to get things done. But if you want to be included on either our entry mail list or the media mail list drop me a line and I shall get it happening. With 65 entries this year because of the GP clash, we expect 6 rides per day for each category. There are no pre war entries and only 12 sidecars.

Not that I am a P5 rider, but the problem of no P5 riders at the Southern Classic is most likley because there were no races for them in passed years so why would they enter for a meeting they have never been able to ride at unless they were informed they could!

point taken Trevor, but we are now trying to remedy the situation. The club fiddled around for abit long deciding whether to run against Gp so we left it late to get the notice of P5 out. As a sidecar rider I have no position on the Forgotten era situation but the feedback I get from other clubs is that there are not many about. Is that fact or fiction please.

As I have asked are there where are the P5 racers in Vic. I am aware the HMRAV has not catered for them but things are a changin. Contact me at 184 Through Rd Camberwell, 3124 to get on the entry list mail out. As a matter of interest are there any P5 sidecars out there? |
