Well, Friday we had a problem with TZ350G. Ricky Clark went gardening on the You must be logged in to see this link. TZ350G but other wise except for CARS running around Friday Practice was Fair and the weather perfect.

Saturday was NOT too good a start, as practice was delayed and racing was late due to the ambo not arriving at 9am. Racing was very good all weekend. WE did hope to have all results up but have NOT received them as promised (hope they arrive today).

Peter Guest wont on the Norvin and our Ricky Clark took the two First Place trophys for Post classic/P5 350's on our TZ350G. First time at Winton and first time on a TZ (been parked in w/shop last 10 years or so).

It look's like HMARV are going to run P5 races (good thing) and gave a SPECIAL Trophy to all P5 riders good work HMARV.

RESULTS SOON!!

Its good to hear you enjoyed the w/e. The HMRAV has tried a few new ideas this w/e. We are trying to have a non racing Race Secretary on the day to deal with issues , we had the gate kepers there earlier to asist with dollars at the gate, the ambo was a problem which seems to have occurred at the ambo head office and we are still dealing with that matter.Nearly all our marshalls were new volunteers and the club is grateful to them, we plan to assist marshalls in obtaining their training so they can help in the future. Because the date was altered by the Benalla Club we had difficulty getting electronic timing because they were booked for other events, but I believe the compromise was generally ok. The small number of P5's is a start so lets hope more hear about the event and who knows there may be a P5 Southern Clasic, what are your thoughts? We also hope to encourage more sidecars along by inviting F2 and developing a separate 650cc Post Classic and 650cc Classic set of rules so get out the engine and build one to our rules. One member is considering a 350cc Honda powered outfit to train his daughters.

To all HMRAV members,
Winton Motorcycle Club now has 56 fully paid up members and is anticipating gaining MA affiliation before Christmas 2002. Membership now costs $35 for juniors, $50 for regular membership, and $85 for "gold membership' which provides full reciprocal rights with Benalla Auto Club. These rights include free entrance to all Winton Motor Raceway promoted meetings such as the V8's, and the Six Hour Motorcycle Enduro to be held in November.

On the matter of corner stewards, scrutineers and other officials for race meetings. Winton Motorcycle Club has several members who are interested in participating in these areas. Some members have acted as corner stewards for the Australian Road Race Championships, and at car meetingsw on a 'pay the club' basis.

If you want help running a meeting at Winton - please ask. Phone Heather Wallace at Winton Mtor Raceway on (03) 5766 4235.

Just one condition - please don't forget to treat your corner stewards right. Some of our members have been left standing for five hours trackside, we would appreciate if you could rotate them, and give them a rest.

Best Regards

Membership of HMRAV costs $30 for a full membership and that includes all family members below the age of 18 but includes the parents. An application to issue Red Plates has been made by the club so additional benefits will be available to members. With the red plates and the ride days non racing members will have plenty of opportunities to be part of the club. Through the new monthly newsletter all the information we can find about meetings,Items for sale and general info is distributed. The HMRAV is now running Dinosaur Ride Days at Broadford for pre 1980 road or racing machines, Historic Winton and the Southern Classic that is being expanded to accommodate the P5. Sidecars up to F2 are activeley promoted and 2003 may include additional hillclimbs on top of the Mt Tarrengower and Geelong Sprint events. HMRAV is actively developing a new circuit and is the only club in Australia to be doing so. Further to previous issues with Marshalls the HMRAV has decided to provide training at no cost to people who wish to develop the necessary skills. So think about being part of the action and be involved in the development of the new areas of participation with all Historic machines. HMRAV 184 Through Rd., Camberwell, 3124
