Ride starts
The ride starts at 10am. Be sure to be part of the action as Wayne Gardner waves off the thousands of bikes, along a cavalcade of excited spectators.

It was Gardner’s 500cc world championship triumph in 1987 that led to the Grand Prix coming to Phillip Island. Apart from those two memorable victories at the Island, where the main straight is now named after him, Gardner won 16 other GPs around the world and two years ago was inducted as a MotoGP legend.
“I still have a huge passion for motorcycles and it will be an honour to wave off so many other enthusiasts as they head for the Grand Prix,” Gardner said.
“I’m proud of my two wins at the Island, so it’s wonderful to be involved in the event and especially with the dedicated fans who help make racing there so special.
“I think it’s going to be a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to seeing everyone get out and enjoy it.”
