Hi all,

After losing my right leg above the knee 10 years ago, I decided to return to bikes and start riding again.

I bought a bike (VTR 250 starting at the bottom of the learning curve again) and I'm shocked at the difference in riding with a plastic leg instead of the weight of a real leg.

Anyway, my problem is that I need to have the right foot brake lever moved from its usuall position upto the handle bars probably as a thumb control on the left side of the bars. As you can imagnine with no right foot, rear braking is not possible.

Does anyone know an engineer in Victoria with experiance in bike control modifications, if so, could you please supply me with their contact details.

Also if there are any of you guys out there also missing body bits or doing things differently that could give me any advice please say hello.

Shane

Good on ya for getting out there again, must take a lot of guts.
Dont know if this helps but give it a go.
Ring Rex Wolfenden on 03 9457 5411, Rex should be able to do the work or at least put you in the right direction.
His brother worked on the NSR 500 Honda team, he might know a bit about Mick Doohans thumb brake conversion.
Cheers and good luck.
