I've just purchased a gorgeous little 1980 yamaha rx125 which I'm really enjoying riding. I just have a question about topping up the engine oil - my vendor said: "Just pop the seat up using the key and you'll be able to fill 'er straight up". Problem is that the seat doesn't just "pop" up - and the little barrel on the side is just for a helmet lock. Only way I can see to remove the seat is to unbolt it from the frame. Any ideas?? There is a picture of my new purchase at:
Try and remove a side cover it may be behind that.

Hi John, thanks for your reply. I have taken the side covers off and I can see the oil chamber, but the lid and cap sit just underneath the seat, and the only way to get to it without spilling oil everywhere is to take the whole seat off (or flip it up). I'll try and take some photos and post them here so you can see what I mean.
try looking for a little strap or clip that holds the tank vertical, if you pull the tank towards you it may just pivot out so you can access the filler top. This is how Kawasaki did the KH series bikes.
